Zesty Bloody Mary

Though a rather unsavory name, the Bloody Mary is a favorite among Southern brunches. Adorned with celery, lemon and lots of spice, this mix is sure to make even the most mild mornings kick.

A Bloody Mary can take on a range of flavors: fresh, spicy, even sweet. But for this spice officianado, I’m offering up a zesty rendition of the classic cocktail.

Zesty Bloody Mary

2 ounces Vodka

3 ounces Tomato juice (I use Spicy V8)

1/2 lemon juiced

Splash of Worchestire sauce

Tabasco, to taste (I use about four shakes)

1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper

1/4 teaspoon celery salt

Garnishes: I like lots of “snackies” in my drink, so I used 1/2 stalk celery, a wedge of lemon, two green beans and two olives.

Mix well all ingredients, excluding garnishes, in a shaker with ice. Strain, and pour over ice. Add garnishes, and enjoy.
